BREAKING GENDER STEREOTYPES

Gender sensitization is very important in these changing times. Women and men both play a key role at home, office and in society. Being empathetic towards each other creates a positive culture at home, workplace and in society. Gender sensitization can lead to gender justice, equality and inclusion.

In order to sensitise individuals regarding gender issues, it is important to first understand the difference between certain gender related terms like gender identity, gender stereotypes etc.

Gender: According to the World Health Organisation, gender refers “to the characteristics of women, men, girls and boys that are socially constructed.  This includes norms, behaviours and roles associated with being a woman, man, girl or boy, as well as relationships with each other. As a social construct, gender varies from society to society and can change over time.”

COUNSELLING SESSION was taken

today a session on Gender Sensitisation. Wherein children were made to understand nothing is gender specific, its all about feeling , we should listen to  our feelings. Also we should not discriminate between colours , genders and profession. A pledge was taken at the session promising acceptance. And apology was made to god for past mockery done.
